Concrete Sink Grate

I started doing some work for McGregor Designs. One of the fun little projects is a sapele grate for a bathroom sink.

You can see the joinery with the pieces sitting on the pattern. I cut the joints so that when clamped into the jig for glue the parts are forced out into the jig.

Before glue i had to cut all the slots for the louvers, a table saw sled simplified that process.

Here is the jig for glue.

After the frame was glued up  i put in the louvers.

With a little sanding, some spit and polish, and the concrete part it looks really good.

Its amazing how long that little thing really took to build.
Till next time,
Cheers
