WTF IRH???

Ah whats the difference between us??

My friend river left has had her deck camber cut in, river right has the un-cut bulkheads.
Here is a brief go at how to layout a deck camber.

 Just keep it smooth.

Once the camber pattern is on the plywood cut it out and use it to scribe the camber onto the bulkheads or deck beams.

Well that's it for today?night/??

  1. It's hard to get a good perspective from the pictures, but I worry about the size of the rowing well and the height of the stem side hatch arch. Will it be a potential finger-smasher with the oars? Or is there more room in there than I realize?

I don't have a lot of wooden boat experience, but I can recall some raft setups where the cooler or box in front of the rower presented as a potential hazard if they sat up too high. Just something to ponder.

Pretty cool toy. Godspeed on the finishing touches. Can't wait to hear how it rows.

    1. I don't think it will be an issue. I have already changed the placement of the bulkheads and made the deck camber less than in the set of drawings I made. I think with the tentitive placement of the oar locks terrible finger death shouldn't be a problem. To be sure I won't know until gunwhales go on and I start playing with oar placements.
